Trump Pushes for Ceasefire Between Cambodia and Thailand Amid Border Conflict

US President Donald Trump said Saturday he was negotiating with the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand as he tries to resolve their border dispute that has claimed lives of at least 33 people.

I just talked to the Prime Minister of Cambodia in regards to stopping the War between Thailand and Cambodia, Trump said in a post on his Truth Social network as he makes a visit to Scotland.
Shorty after in one of his new posts he said that he has just talked to the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand and this was a very good conversation.

Thailand, similar to Cambodia, desires an instantaneous Ceasefire, and PEACE, he said.

I shall now hand that message back to the Prime Minister of Cambodia. It appears to be a natural thing after hearing both Parties that Ceasefire, Peace, and Prosperity is the right thing to do. we shall soon hear!

It also exploded over ancient temple disputes into which a rural belt stretching along the border between the countries morphs into a hilly jungle- and cultivated land where the locals grow rubber and rice.

The fighting which started three days ago erupted on Saturday in the coastal areas of the countries where they merge at the Gulf of Thailand some 250 kilometers (160 miles) west of the main battlefields.

I am endeavouring to dissimulate a complicated situation! Many are losing their lives in this War, yet this War is reminding me much of the Conflict between Pakistan and India, which successfully was ended, Trump told.

Trump has also said that he would not consider making trade deals with either of the countries until fighting ceases.
