National League Wins Historic All-Star Game Swing-Off Over AL, Schwarber Named MVP

The National League opened the game with a slim initial lead as the first three batters of the game got the better of Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal during the first inning. The current Cy Young recipient surrendered hits to Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuña Jr. and a double to Ketel Marte that left the American league trailing two runs towards the start of the first inning.
The NL added four runs of their own in the bottom half of the sixth inning on a three run dinger by New York Mets wunderkind Pete Alonso, followed by Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks, who homered after Alonso did in the same inning.
In the seventh inning, the AL responded with one-three-four-three and Brent Rooker homered home with three runs and Bobby Witt Jr. scored the next run with a groundout. This was scored when it reached the top of the ninth with the AL home team tapping off the San Diego Padres pitcher Robert Suarez and the Met pitcher Edwin Diaz getting two runs and tying the match. Witt collected an RBI in the second inning, with a two-base hit driving in Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton and later scoring on Steven Kwan infield hit in the same inning.
At six all, they had a game swing-off swing off the home run (first swing off in the history).
The National league had lost to the American league in three consecutive innings placing them in 3-1 but then MVP of the All-Star Game, Kyle Schwarber drove three home runs on three swings to get his team to win the game. The home run swing-off was won by the National League 4-3.
