Messi Magic Seals Miami’s Fifth Straight Win and Ends Nashville’s 15-Game Unbeaten Streak

The win was the fifth in a row for Miami as well, and it ended Nashville 15-game unbeaten run in the league.
In the 17 th minute, Messi broke the deadlock with a free kick just outside the box that deflected between a gap in the defensive wall by Nashville and into the top corner of the goal, beyond the long finger tips of goalie, Joe Willis.
That put Miami up 1-0 until Nashville tied it up immediately after the half when Hany Mukhtar headed in a perfectly-weighted pass by Andy N 2019
Slightly more than 10 minutes later, Messi scored once again against Miami and he did it after he missed a mistake by Willis who just gave the ball to the Argentinian in an attempt to clear the ball. Messi just dribbled past Willis and struck a simple winner despite Willis attempts to redeem his loss of concentration.
Since 2012 when he was playing at Barcelona, Messi has never scored more than a single goal in five or more successive league matches according to ESPN though, it must be said, LaLiga is quite a different league than the MLS.
Not many words are used. It is unbelievable what he still does,” Miami head coach Javier Mascherano explained to reporters afterward, according to MLS. To crack big records now every three days (the song) Now every three days (the title) A thousand times to-day I have said; he is the flag of our team.
He is the one. He is the boss. He demonstrates to us how to be competitive.”
Messi has 16 goals to his name this season – 10 of which, besides five assists, have been recorded in the past five games. Miami, on its part is fifth in the Eastern Conference yet it has a three game lead over all the teams ahead of it. As impressive as it would be to win all three matches, doing so would position the team on top of the league.
